All eyes are drawn to the green island that is the heart of this kitchen; a warm, welcoming place where family and friends gather to sip wine, eat any meal of the day, or just share conversation. Inspired by our work with historic homes, we designed the island’s cabinetry to reflect the beauty and style of a piece of antique furniture, softly illuminated by two wrought iron pendant lights. We utilized natural colors and materials throughout the kitchen, contrasting the color of the perimeter cabinets with the darker shade of the island to further highlight the beauty of this custom piece.
